Here at 5000fish, we firmly believe in the philosophy of 'dogfooding'. If you don’t know, 'eating your own dog food' means using and relying on the very software you're developing and selling. And boy, have we been munching away!
Enter InsightWorthy
We're building our newest solution, InsightWorthy, on the solid foundation of Yurbi, our robust enterprise business intelligence (BI) platform.
Now, you might be wondering, what exactly is InsightWorthy? Well, imagine a cloud-based dashboard and reporting software that allows small and medium-sized organizations, and their supporting agencies, to effortlessly connect to the SaaS-based apps they use to run their business.
With a few clicks, they can instantly generate dashboards and reports that offer crucial insights for running and improving their businesses. Sounds like a dream, doesn't it?
This is what InsightWorthy aims to offer - faster, easier, and more cost-effective insights than traditional BI tools. And good news for the Yurbi lovers out there - as we add new features for InsightWorthy, Yurbi becomes more appealing for those seeking on-premise, self-hosted BI, and white-labelled, embedded BI.
What's New?
So, what's cooking in our innovation kitchen? Let's take a sneak peek into the upgrades we're adding to Yurbi to support the launch of InsightWorthy.
- Linux Support: We might be fans of Microsoft Windows, but we're beyond thrilled to now support running Yurbi on Linux. We're talking Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian, Redhat, Oracle Linux, Amazon Linux, and Fedora.
The motivation behind this shift? As a nimble, bootstrapped organization, we aim to leverage the most cost-effective (and secure) architecture to host InsightWorthy. And that means transitioning to Linux. Plus, we believe Linux offers significant performance, availability, and a bounty of other benefits. We've already made this shift, so it's full steam ahead! - API Endpoint Support: Gone are the days where Yurbi solely supported databases and imported Excel/CSV files as data sources. Now, we're amping up the intensity! We're building bridges to all leading financial, marketing, sales, support, and e-commerce cloud business apps. To make this possible, we've supercharged Yurbi with enhanced API capabilities.
While there's more work to be done around building pre-configured integrations with SaaS tools and improving data handling, the basics are now firmly in place. We can now confidently connect, consume, and automate API data-fetching into our reporting features.
What's Next?
In the pipeline, we're working on enhancing our API features and hammering away at Yurbi version 12. This next iteration will offer a completely revamped user interface, packed with new enhancements and features that are critical for InsightWorthy.
